Kelly Clark 

Department: Civil & Evironmental Engineering
Year: Graduate Student
 
Kelly is studying Structural Engineering at the University of Washington and will be receiving a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering. She recieved her undergraduate degree from Tufts University in 2004. Kelly's current research project is on the behavior of braced frames in seismic zones. Her research interests include earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural hazards. Kelly enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, sports, and teaching.

I'm a senior in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction. In my spare time I like to dance and go out to eat with all the wonderful friends I've met in Civil Engineering. In addition to my interests in science and math, I'm also passionate about history and world cultures.  
 
 
 
 
 
 
Kristy Katzenmeyer 

Department: Bioengineering
Year: Graduate Student
 
Kristy is a Ph.D. candidate in bioengineering. She received her B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, Kristy plans to pursue a career in the development of medical devices. In her spare time, Kristy likes to go rock climbing, hiking, biking, snow boarding, and running. She also enjoys rock music, abstract art, and cooking.
 
  
 
Lauran Madden 

Department: Bioengineering
Year: Graduate Student
 
Lauran is currently in the PhD program for Bioengineering and working in the Ratner lab to develop biomaterials that can direct stem cell differentiation for regenerative medicine applications. She is also involved in Biomedical Engineering Society's outreach and industry committees. In her spare time, Lauran likes to wind down by running, baking, or rooting for the Eagles (during football season).
 
 
Colleen Mori

I am a senior in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a focus in water resources and environmental engineering. In my spare time I coach 4th grade girls soccer and I like to snowboard and spend time outdoors.  
 
 
Bethany Nevitt

Year: Senior
 
Bethany was born and raised in Seattle. She is currently a junior in Civil and Environmental Engineering; she plans to work for an engineering firm responsible for either the design, building or promotion of sustainable buildings. Her personal hobbies include sailing, snowboarding, scuba diving, and photography.
 
 
 
 
 
Kyung Park

Kyung is a Ph.D. candidate in bioengineering, currently working on developing anti-infective biomaterials. She originally hails from California, where she received her B.S. in Biomechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Besides working, Kyung also loves cooking & baking,
playing the flute, and following European football (a.k.a. soccer).

Laura Vertatschitsch

Year: Graduate Student
 
I'm a 2nd year PhD student in electrical engineering working on tracking the International Space Station.  I was born in Canada, but have lived here in Western Washington since I was 2!  I went to Issaquah Middle and High School and Whitman College before I landed here at UW.  I LOVE basketball, friends, singing, and playing the guitar!
